Graduate Student
Plant and Microbial Biosciences

Lab Affiliation: Joseph Jez

I am a biochemist working to develop new antibiotics and antibiotic development strategies. In particular, my research focuses on how prodrugs are activated by bacteria, parasites, and humans, with the end goal of designing drugs that passively enter cells, are highly potent, and very specific to microbes. I use a variety of techniques including chemogenomics, enzymology, mass spectrometry, and structural biology to answer these questions. I started this project in the Odom John lab (CHOP) and am currently a graduate student in the Jez Lab.
