IMPORTANT: MedPrep II will be TENTATIVELY offered in the Fall 2021 semester. It is possible that the course could be halted at any point before or during the semester, depending on the status of COVID-19. MedPrep II (Bio 2654) offers students a real world, behind-the-scenes experience of a life in medicine. For four hours every other week, students shadow physicians in the Charles F. Knight Emergency and Trauma Center of Barnes-Jewish Hospital, the main teaching hospital of the Washington University School of Medicine. In addition to the shadowing, there is a required lecture every Wednesday from 5:00-6:00 pm. The first session on 9/1/21 is a special mandatory 2-hour orientation session from 5:00-7:00 pm. Attendance at both hours is mandatory and excused absences will not be given for any reason, including illness or emergency. There is no outside course work and no exams. A $25 course fee as well as HIPAA training and TB testing are required. At this time, students should hold on TB testing. Further information will be provided on the MedPrep website and by email as it become available. For more information and to register for this course, please see the MedPrep website at medprep.wustl.edu. Registration is done through the website, NOT through WebSTAC. Successful completion of Bio 2651, and sophomore standing or above are required to take Bio 2654.
