Students in this course discuss foundational and contemporary immunology literature. Discussions focus on key papers and experimental approaches that inform current concepts and controversies in immunology. Topics are selected to be complementary to topics introduced in Bio 5053 (Immunobiology I), and include mechanisms of antigenic specificity, diversity, cell communication, differentiation, activation, and effector activity. Prereq, concurrent/prior enrollment in Bio 5053 and permission of instructor. 2 units.
