This course provides a graduate-level overview of topics pertinent to the genetics of human disease. The course includes the following topics: Gene and chromosome organization, Genomic methods, Murine Genetics, RNA, Epigentics, Introduction to Human Genetics and Mendelian Traits, Human Population Genetics, Transcriptional Regulation, and Clinical Cytogenomics. Other lectures present recent advances in autism, cancer, neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, immunologic and mitochondrial disease as well as ethics in genetics. This course is required of students in the Human and Statistical Genetics graduate program.
