WU-ASM, the WashU American Society for Microbiology chapter, is buzzing with activity as they kick off a semester filled with fun, learning, and discovery!
WU-ASM—a welcoming organization for students at any level of interest or curiosity in microbial sciences—is dedicated to fostering a home for and empowering the next generation of microbiologists.
This semester, the WU-crobes have been busy engaging in a variety of activities, from ASM Family Feud and bowling nights to crafting events. Coming up is the agar art workshop, where participants will paint with bacteria! All are welcome to join the event on Tuesday, October 1st, at 5:40pm in Jolley Hall 03103, on the third floor. The theme for this year’s workshop is “What Makes You Happy?”
On October 10th, WU-ASM will kick off the second round of their Micro Dinner seminar series, featuring Dr. Petra Levin as the guest speaker! All students are invited to join for dinner and an exciting talk at 6pm in Life Sciences 310.
WU-ASM is committed to five key areas: professional development, community service, engaging seminars, helping students navigate WashU, and, of course, having microbiology fun! From baking focaccia to touring Pfizer, they invite everyone to join in exploring the wonders of microbiology together! —Kaylaa Betts, Chair, ASM WashU Chapter
