I am a neuroethologist interested in the mechanisms that support active sensing in complex and dynamic environments. My PhD work focused on the adaptive strategies echolocating bats used to forage and navigate when faced with both internal and external sensory challenges. Now in my postdoctoral work with Dr. Carlson I aim to examine the active electrosensing behaviors of weakly electric fish in social and environmental complexity.
