Frances Thuet

Frances is a senior computer manager for the Department of Biology. She is the system administrator for department web and file servers, manages one full time computer support staff specialist, Mike Malolepszy, is the primary contact for new employee email account set up, manages daily operations of the Natural Sciences Learning Center (NSLC), manages department AV equipment, provides backups/disaster recovery, provides desktop support including software/hardware installation and troubleshooting, provides first line support for networking, email and Box issues, provides assistance with computer purchases, produces various reports from the student information database, develops websites, webforms, surveys, and online tests, assists with data analysis, provides support for courses including websites, software installation, Canvas assistance and all other technology related support as needed.

Overall she is responsible for recommending and implementing computer hardware and software solutions for the department including the technical design, planning, and implementation of department servers and other mission-critical systems. These services are provided for all faculty and department members. She also manages two full-time student support administrative assistants Patrick Clark and Erin Gerrity.
