Summer Experiences in Life Sciences

Earn credit for clinical research and other non-classroom learning in the life sciences during the summer. The variety of activities arranged by the student with their WashU faculty mentor have included but are not limited to: participation in clinical research or applied ecological research and report on it; shadow a physician on rounds or in clinic; prepare a paper on an organ system or disease; participate in science outreach teaching, etc. Participants must meet regularly with the faculty mentor or designee and commit to at least 140 hours over two semesters. An application is required each semester which includes a work plan, that must approved prior to registration. A semester Summary Report is due after one semester and a Final Summary Report after two semesters. Bio 265 does not count toward the Biology major/minor.
